Chapter 17

Basically what happens in chapter 17 is Tom, Huck's and Joe's funeral. It was a sad day in the village , everybody got together in the church for their funeral. It was one of the first times that the church was so full with people.Becky felt bad because she rejected Tom and thinks that she won't be with him again. All of their friends started to remember what they had done together, the last time that each of them saw Tom, Huck and Joe, their last words and who had been the last one to be with them. Mass had already started and in the middle of it, the three boys came walking through the door.everybody was surprised and happy. their families hugged them and kissed and were so thankful for having them back. tom noticed that nobody hugged Huck so he told Aunt Polly and then HE received some hugs and kisses too. The last line of the chapter is : "Tom got more cuffs and kisses that day according to Aunt Polly's varying moods, than he had earned before in a year and he hardly knew which expressed the most gratefulness to God and affection for himself." I think this means that Tom got more kisses and hugs that day compared to what he gets in the whole year and he couldnt figure out if all that affection was a way of demonstrating how thankful she was to God for having him back, or if she was simply showing how much she loved Tom .

TOM SAWYER - CHAPTER 12

In chapter 12 tom was not feeling well. His aunt thought he was sick but he was just missing Becky because she didn't attend school for a few days. Tom had an extreme depression because he hadn't seen her in a long time. His aunt was worried for him and tried various medication and remedies. The medications didn't work because there is no medicine that will make you stop missing or loving someone. Finally his aunt gives him a pain killer that energizes him. The pain killer kind of wakes him up. Suddenly he is arriving early to school. I think he does that because he was tired of not being able to see Becky. Tom was not really "sick " he just missed the person he loved.

Funny Story

A few weekends ago Annie invited Lucia, Juliana,Vivian and me to her house. We decided to go to Video Stars to rent some movies. We where looking at different movies when suddenly, Juliana accidentally pushed the stand and all the movies fell down!! We started laughing and ran to the other side of the room. The persons in charge where very mad because of the mess. Everybody stared at us! It was a very embarrassing and funny moment.

Would you be friend of Tom Sawyer

What I've read about Tom Sawyer is that he is a very lazy kid. He does not like to work at all and makes others do his work. Tom never follows directions and school is not his favorite place. I would not be his friend because he could be a bad influence. We would probably get in trouble frequently. He is defenitely not the kind of person I would hang out with.
